![]() Postdoctoral Research Associate Title: 306-NN - Postdoctoral Research Associate Business Title: Postdoctoral Research Associate Additional Titles: Location: WSU PULLMAN CAMPUS Area: Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture Department: Civil and Environmental Engineering Employee Type: Faculty (+) (Fixed Term) Job Family: Faculty - Academic - Not OT Eligible Position Number: 200859 Position Details: Summary of Duties: The researcher will contribute to the operation and enhancement of the WSU AIRPACT air quality forecast system and development of new machine learning models for air quality forecasting. Required Qualifications: 1) Expertise with gridded meteorological and atmospheric chemistry & transport models such as WRF, CMAQ, or GEOS-Chem, and their applications to air quality, atmospheric chemistry, and/or climate change. 2) Recent accomplishments demonstrating graduate-level and/or postdoctoral research, evidenced by peer reviewed publications. 3) Ph.D. or equivalent degree earned in a relevant science or engineering field. Additional Requirement: Expertise in numerical modeling and machine learning related to air quality and atmospheric chemistry at regional to urban scales. Preferred Qualifications: 1) Linux and Python scripting, 2) Applying machine learning to air quality forecasting, 3) Emissions preparation, 4) Remote sensing and in situ observations applied to evaluation and improvement of models and forecast systems, 5) Model development. Additional Information: Monthly Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
