Position Function: The Quantitative Ecology and Spatial Technologies (QuEST) Laboratory and Geosystems Research Institute (GRI) seeks to hire a Biomathematician/Biostatistician to develop novel mathematical and statistical tools for describing spatial phenomena using high-resolution remote sensing and biotelemetry datasets, coupled to applications in high-performance computing to facilitate rapid data analysis. This is a 2-year position (with possibility of extension pending additional extramural funding). Salary Grade: UC Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Identify current gaps in mathematical tools for applications to animal movement and Minimum Qualifications: * Must possess a Ph.D. or have defended a dissertation (no ABD) Preferred Qualifications: * Ph.D. in mathematics, biomathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, quantitative ecology, or other related fields Instructions for Applying: Apply online by submitting (1) a cover letter, (2) a resume or Curriculum Vitae, (3) a 1-page statement of interest and expertise, (4) contact information for 3 references, and (5) academic transcripts.
