Essential Job Duties:
The IT Analyst/Programmer I position will focus on technical and analytical work in developing, designing, and/or analyzing technical solutions for clients through an appropriate blending of technical knowledge and business solutions. This programmer position will participate in the development of solutions using programming expertise for day-to-day problems to include maintenance, modification or development of complex inter-related applications/solutions. Solutions link technical knowledge with business solutions and may range from consulting services (software or hardware recommendations) to developing integrated-automated systems. Duties include (but are not limited to) client needs assessment as well as evaluating hardware availability and software requirements.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Master's degree; or Bachelor's degree with zero – two years' of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience. - For management‐level roles, also include with the above requirements 1‐2 years of supervisory experience.
Familiar with networking and data storage solutions
Required confidence working in Unix/Linux environments with knowledge and experience developing and testing in UNIX environments (Linux) OS
Familiarity with Web-applications
Knowledge of research methods applicable to the development and validation of complex computer-based systems or equivalent combination of training and experience
Knowledge of the specific domain application areas and their methods (such as artificial intelligence, data systems, machine learning, robotics and human computer interaction or other closely related applications)
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Ability to comprehend system and application related specifications and requirements; design and maintain applications using modern computer science-based tools and techniques; communicate with systems users; understand and follow directions
M.S. degree in compuer science and at least one year of professional work experience in development of web-based tools with geospatial data
