The primary purpose of this position is to develop and teach courses in the areas of soil and water conservation engineering with an emphasis on water resources management, irrigation and drainage engineering and watershed modeling, engineering properties of soil, physical properties of soils, principles of surveying, groundwater hydrology/engineering, conservation and efficient use of water, remote sensing and precision agriculture. Teach and evaluate enrolled students in courses for academic credits as well as to conduct academic advising. The candidate is expected to develop a competitive research portfolio in a topic of national interest or USDA priority related to natural resources engineering. The candidate needs to remain engaged in proposal writing, publishing, supporting and advising graduate students, and all other activates required for tenure.

An earned Ph.D. degree in Biological Engineering, Biological Systems Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or relevant field with an emphasis in soil and water engineering is required.
Preference will be given to someone who has experience working in water quality modeling and remote sensing ( Soil moisture, plant growth model, nutrients, crop canopy, crop yield, etc.) and software packages of SWAT, EPIC, WEPP, RUSLE, and DRAINMOD. Candidates should have a strong background in teaching and research in the implied areas and should have some knowledge of the ABET Accreditation process. At least 1 year of relevant experience for an assistant professor and 5 years of relevant experience for an associate professor.
