The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position beginning July 16, 2019.
The postdoctoral scholar position is in the area of civil and environmental engineering. The ideal candidate should have knowledge and background in one or a combination of the following fields hydrology, climatology, remote sensing of environment, climate extremes, water-energy nexus, climate change, stochastic modeling and water resources management.
This position requires a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering or a related field from an accredited university. The candidate should demonstrate strong quantitative skills, solid background in statistical hydrology/climatology, as well as good written and oral communication skills. The candidate will be responsible for writing reports, research papers, and grant proposals. The postdoctoral scholar will work with Professor Amir AghaKouchak and research group.
Initial appointment will be for a 12-month, renewable subject to performance and continuation of project funding. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
