The Database Administrator II, under general supervision, routinely performs complex and non-routine specialized data management and administration support functions including troubleshooting, analysis, research, problem-solving, and recovery.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related experience in database architecture and administration.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Knowledge of advanced analysis, troubleshooting, problem solving, client relations, requirements assessment, needs analysis, and project management methodology, context and interrelationships.
Knowledge of Kimball Data Warehouse Architecture (Dimensional modeling, Star schema) and Agile Methodology/Scrum Framework.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Other Requirements or Other Factors:
Applicants who advance through the interview process will be asked to develop a datamart for end-user analysis of data provided by the Center.
Raw data and instructions will be provided.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Masterâ™s degree in applicable field.
Five years of experience in data management.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to structure data to maximize end user productivity and facilitate the discovery of new knowledge.
Working knowledge of ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro.
Experience working with real estate or geospatial.
Experience working with Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines and SQL databases.
Experience developing complex ETL processes.
Participates in database design discussions to create databases that support the needs of internal and external data users. Implements database design activities and manages the physical descriptions of database components.
Develops and manages database objects that integrate structured and geospatial data. Implements database installations and testing. Maintains and upgrades complex, multiplatform databases. Monitors performance of complex, multiplatform databases and tunes databases for optimum performance. Resolves performance problems and executes recoveries.
Troubleshoots and repairs databases. Reviews the accuracy of documentation of database administration methods and security procedures. Maintains data warehouse documentation. Documents database problems, recoveries, and repairs.
Coordinates technical activities of a small project team. Assists and mentors other employees in resolving various issues. Participates in evaluation of new technologies to enhance the Centerâ™s data warehouse.Performs other duties as assigned.
