PostdoctoralPosition in Remote Sensing and Ecophysiology
A postdoctoral position in remotesensing and ecophysiology is available starting immediately in the laboratoryof C. Neal Stewart, Jr. at the University of Tennessee in the Department ofPlant Sciences (https://ag.tennessee.edu/racheff/).The successful applicant will be a plant physiologist or ecophysiologist withinterests/experience in phenotyping, drones, and field-level experiments. Our4-y project focuses on nitrogen use and biomass production of a switchgrasscommon garden study as part of a genome-wide association study. It will involvehigh-resolution remote sensing, big-data machine learning approaches to field-basedremote sensing, advanced image processing and analysis for traits such asbiomass projections, nitrogen use efficiency, and disease resistance.The phenotyping platform is a UAV with multispectraland LiDAR sensors. The successfulapplicant will collaborate with scientists and staff within and outside of theuniversity. The postdoc will give presentations, write reports and writemanuscripts intended for publication.
