NOTICE OF JOB OPPORTUNITY
Heads the operations and daily activities of the Clemson Center for Geospatial Technologies, sustains and strengthens the GIS programs as the provider for GIS based services, research consultation and user education to Clemson University students, faculty, staff, etc.
Works with Co-Director for GIS on all aspects of the program from outreach, data acquisition, and collection management.
Designs, creates and delivers geospatial training and documentation to patrons and staff. Designs and manages the GIS web site, including access for users to download GIS software programs.
Provides expert geospatial technology consultation services to users with varying needs and abilities ranging from basic GIS skills to research level analysis involving manipulating, customizing, querying, or modeling of data. Depth of consultation may vary depending on researchers needs.
Continually collaborates on building and maintaining campus-wide access to geospatial data and imagery.
Work closely with the Co-Director for GIS, the Digital Library Systems and Services team, and the Metadata Librarian to create an infrastructure, interface, metadata, and protocols for search/display/retention of the content.
Required: Master's degree in geography, city planning, or closely related field plus 2 years experience with analysis involving manipulating data. This should include at least one year of experience with outreach, design and training for geospatial technologies. Email resume to email@example.com.
