The Virginia Tech Center for Geospatial Information Technology (CGIT) is seeking a System Administrator and/or DevOps Engineer to maintain servers, configure continuous integration for new projects, and advise developers on preparing their code for deployment. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent training and experience, experience administering Ubuntu servers with an infrastructure management tool, experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment systems, and experience administering relational database systems. Major projects will include leading the design and development of CGIT's computational infrastructure in collaboration with research faculty, and improving workflows. Additional responsibilities will include full-stack web development, and assist training developers in new tools and best practices. This position reports to the Director of CGIT and is located in Blacksburg, VA.
