Responsible for maintaining existing databases associated with VMCVM – Blacksburg. Responsible for establishing new layers that improve situational awareness and emergency preparedness for faculty, staff, & students. Develop and maintain wayfinding web application for main complex to improve mobility through the Blacksburg campus. Conduct and maintain ongoing needs assessment for VMCVM as related to possible web application developments for other administrative and emergency purposes. Coordinate, collect, create and maintain geospatial data related to the Master Plan for the college.
Master of Science degree in geography, engineering, or related field; 10+ years of experience with infrastructure, interior space, & emergency management data models, data collection, web applications, versioning, and ArcGIS / AutoCAD data translations, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcServer; Remote UAV pilot's license to capture existing and changing conditions related to VMCVM occupied buildings and property. Experience conducting a needs assessment and working with multiple departments to determine the overall geospatial need for VMCVM.
GISP, experience with administration of versioning through ArcGIS, experience in a multifaceted university environment.
