The Technical Project Specialist I provides technical specialization and support as a system developer for designing, implementing, integrating, and overseeing Facilities Management based projects, systems, and solutions, including Utilities related projects; Researches, evaluates, designs, implements, and maintains facilities data and systems; Explores systems and new technologies that support department functions; Researches, evaluates, and recommends applicable hardware and software; Designs and integrates datasets to support Facilities systems; Collaborates with multiple information technology resources and monitors assigned projects; Defines and coordinates the amassing of technical requirements; and Supports 24/7 Facilities Information Services.
In addition, this position creates, produces, and maintains interior/exterior geospatial, architectural, and tabular datasets; standards; template; and procedural libraries; Creates, integrates and maintains both internally developed systems as well as purchased products and systems; Creates and oversees Utilities’ datasets and networks; Customizes and automates the creation and maintenance of datasets; Utilizes available and researched data as well as best practice methodologies to ensure data integrity; Designs routines and processes utilizing data and various products to meet project objectives; Creates automated systems, processes and tools to minimize errors and eliminate manual processes.; Delivers products using publishing and graphics tools; Produces and maintains project implementation and interdepartmental documentation; Monitors work in-process and upon completion to ensure compliance with instructions, adherence to established practices and standards, and overall acceptability of work; Integrates QA/QC methods in all processes and products to ensure customer and department standards are met and/or exceeded; Monitors quantity/quality of work; Tests facilities solutions; Ensures systems are secure; and Complies with University Records Retention Requirements.
MS Windows/Office; Publishing/Graphics; SAP and Driver's License — Preferred.

Required Related Experience:
Required License/Registration/Certification :
Bachelor's Degree + 3 years in information technology.
CAD; GIS; BIM; Database; Scripting; Macros; HTML; and Technical Systems Experience — Preferred.
Utility knowledge: Electric, High voltage, High Pressure Steam, Chilled Water, Domestic Water, Gas, Telecommunications, Sanitary Sewer – Preferred
