Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) is looking for an individual to support the Food Security Office led by the Applied Sciences Manager within the Earth Science Division at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The Food Security Office is a function executed by the NASA Goddard Applied Sciences team at the request of the NASA Headquarters Applied Sciences Water Resources Program as part of a Food Security Initiative, and works under the leadership of the Goddard Applied Sciences Manager to support the goals of the Food Security Office, which includes coordinating with an externally led consortium funded by the NASA Headquarters Applied Sciences Program. The objective of the Food Security Consortium (the Consortium) and the Food Security Office is to enhance the use of earth observation and NASA earth science satellite capabilities to support food security and agriculture.
Master’s degree in science, engineering, social science/policy or a related field, strong familiarity with Earth Science and remote sensing, and at least 6 years of experience with food security and agriculture, or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate should possess strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated experience with leading groups across multiple organizations, and experience with developing partnerships among organizations.
